Adèle-Marie Buis is an orchestral and chamber musician in Chicago
Adèle-Marie Buis (pronounced Base) is originally from the Chicagoland area.
She regularly performs with multiple prominent Chicago ensembles on oboe and English horn, including the Lyric Opera Orchestra, Grant Park Orchestra, Music of the Baroque, and the Chicago Philharmonic. She served as Principal Oboe of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra for the 2022-2023 season. Additionally, she is a regular musician with Nu Deco Ensemble in Miami.
Previously, she has performed with several orchestras around the nation including the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.
Buis is an alumna of the New World Symphony (2015-2018) and a graduate of DePaul University (B.M.) and the New England Conservatory of Music (M.M.). Her primary teachers have included Eugene Izotov, Principal Oboe of the San Francisco Symphony, John Ferrillo, Principal Oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Anne Marie Gabriele, Second Oboe of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
